creating great presentations – Duarte design

For all of you interested in improving your presentations, you need to watch this new video created by Duarte Design. It is a really excellent summary and some of the best advice I have heard.

Almost as impressive, they built the entire presentation in Powerpoint. Good design can be implemented in any tool. They took advantage of some new features coming in the next version of Powerpoint, but much of what they did can be done now.

A lot of students have asked about the resources I use to develop presentations, so I am re-posting this previous post to my main blog for your convenience. You'll find over 50 links to the best presentation resources I have found.

For those interested in the software I use to develop presentations, I use a program called Keynote that only runs on a Macintosh. It has slicker visual effects than Powerpoint, but with a little effort Powerpoint can do many of the same things. If you want an effect closer to Keynote but on a PC, the online presentation software Sliderocket (sliderocket.com) gets you a lot closer and has many merits on its own.

In the first presentation workshop post I gave you my top 10 tips and top 12 sites for developing great presentations. Want more? Here are 30 more tips from Garr Reynolds on

Seth Godin (remember the remarkable marketing guy?) also put together a small free booklet with his tips. You can read the booklet here:
